Community Guidelines

These guidelines set the standard of conduct expected of everyone on Wayfield — organizers, leaders, and participants alike.

Effective: April 19, 2026

1. Our Community

Wayfield connects organizers, leaders, and participants in creative education. Our platform is built around the belief that learning is most powerful when it happens in communities of trust — where people feel safe to participate, experiment, and grow.

These Community Guidelines apply to all users of the Wayfield platform, including the website, mobile application, and any communications facilitated through our services. They apply regardless of your role: whether you are organizing a program, leading sessions, or joining as a participant.

By using Wayfield, you agree to uphold these guidelines. They exist alongside — and do not replace — Wayfield's Terms of Service, which also govern your use of the platform.

2. Be Respectful

Wayfield is a space for creative education and professional collaboration. All members of our community deserve to be treated with courtesy and respect.

The following are not permitted on Wayfield:

  • Harassment, intimidation, or bullying of any individual or group, whether on the platform or in connection with events found through Wayfield.
  • Hate speech, including content that dehumanises or promotes discrimination against individuals or groups based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, age, or any other protected characteristic.
  • Threats of violence or encouragement of others to commit violence.
  • Sustained disruption of workshops, sessions, or community spaces.
  • Deliberately offensive, abusive, or degrading language directed at other users.

Constructive criticism and honest feedback are welcome; personal attacks are not. Disagreements happen — handle them professionally and in good faith.

3. Be Honest

Trust is the foundation of our community. We expect all users to be honest in how they represent themselves and their offerings.

  • Accurate workshop descriptions: Organizers must ensure that workshop titles, descriptions, images, pricing, dates, venue information, and leader credentials accurately reflect what participants can expect. Misleading listings damage trust and will be removed.
  • Honest reviews: Participants and leaders should provide genuine, first-hand reviews. Fake reviews — whether positive or negative — distort the community and are prohibited.
  • Real identity: Impersonating another person, organization, or public figure is not permitted. Profile information must be accurate.
  • Accurate credentials: Leaders should accurately represent their qualifications, experience, and professional standing. Falsely claiming credentials is a serious violation.

4. Protect Privacy

Respect the privacy of every person you encounter through Wayfield.

  • Do not share another person's personal information — including their contact details, address, financial information, or private communications — without their explicit consent.
  • Do not record audio or video of workshop sessions, participants, or leaders without the prior consent of all parties involved.
  • Do not take or share photographs of individuals in workshop settings without their permission.
  • Treat communications received through the Wayfield platform as private unless the sender has given permission to share them.

These obligations apply in addition to any applicable data protection laws, including UK GDPR.

5. Stay Safe

Wayfield is designed to facilitate professional creative education. The following behaviours are not permitted:

  • Using the platform to solicit participants or leaders for private commercial arrangements outside Wayfield, in breach of organizer agreements.
  • Sharing inappropriate, explicit, or offensive content in workshop listings, communications, or reviews.
  • Attempting to circumvent Wayfield's booking or payment systems to conduct transactions off-platform in breach of our Terms.
  • Using the platform to collect participant data for purposes unrelated to the workshop in question.
  • Any activity that could put other users at physical, financial, or emotional risk.

6. Workshop Standards for Organizers

Organizers are responsible for the quality and integrity of the workshops they publish on Wayfield. By listing a workshop, you commit to:

  • Deliver what you advertise. The experience participants receive should match what was described in the listing — in terms of content, format, duration, venue, and who is leading.
  • Handle cancellations professionally. If you must cancel a workshop, notify registered participants as far in advance as possible and process refunds promptly in accordance with your stated refund policy.
  • Honour your refund commitments. The refund policy you publish on a listing is a commitment to participants. Do not refuse refunds that you are obligated to provide under your own stated policy or applicable consumer law.
  • Maintain safe environments. Ensure venues and session formats are appropriate for the audience, including appropriate safeguarding where minors may attend.
  • Comply with applicable law. Ensure your workshops comply with all relevant laws and regulations in the jurisdiction where they are held.

7. Leader Standards

Leaders play a central role in the participant experience. We ask all leaders on Wayfield to uphold the following standards:

  • Professional conduct: Treat participants, other leaders, and organizers with professionalism and courtesy at all times, both on the platform and in person during workshops.
  • Punctuality: Arrive on time and fully prepared for the sessions you are scheduled to lead. Lateness or unpreparedness reflects poorly on the organizer and the platform as a whole.
  • Communicate changes promptly: If you are unable to attend a session or need to make changes, notify the organizer as early as possible so that participants can be informed in good time.
  • Accurate representation: Do not overstate your experience or qualifications in your profile or in communications with participants.
  • Inclusive facilitation: Create a welcoming environment where all participants feel able to engage, regardless of their background or experience level.

8. Reporting Concerns

If you encounter behaviour that you believe violates these guidelines, please report it. We take all reports seriously and review them promptly.

You can report a concern in two ways:

  • In-app report button: Use the "Report" option on any workshop listing, user profile, review, or message. This is the fastest route for time-sensitive issues.
  • Email: Send a description of the concern to support@wayfieldapp.com, including as much detail as possible about the incident, the individuals involved, and any relevant dates or links.

All reports are reviewed confidentially. We will not disclose your identity to the reported party without your consent, except where required by law.

9. Consequences of Violations

Wayfield reserves the right to take action against any user who violates these guidelines, up to and including permanent account termination. The action taken will depend on the nature and severity of the violation, the user's history on the platform, and any applicable legal considerations.

Possible consequences include:

  • A formal warning issued to the user's account.
  • Temporary suspension of the account and associated listings.
  • Removal of specific content, reviews, or listings.
  • Permanent termination of the account and ban from the platform.
  • Referral to law enforcement authorities where illegal activity is suspected.

Where a violation relates to an in-person workshop, we may also notify the other party (e.g. the organizer or participant) of the outcome of our review, where appropriate.
