Cookie Policy

This policy explains what cookies are, which cookies Wayfield uses, and how you can control them.

Effective: April 19, 2026

1. What Are Cookies

Cookies are small text files placed on your device by websites you visit. They are widely used to make websites work, or work more efficiently, as well as to provide information to the site owner.

Similar technologies — such as local storage, session storage, and device fingerprinting — serve comparable purposes and are also governed by this policy. We refer to all of these collectively as "cookies" throughout this document.

Cookies can be "first-party" (set by Wayfield directly) or "third-party" (set by external services we use). They can also be "session cookies" (deleted when you close your browser) or "persistent cookies" (retained for a defined period).

2. How We Use Cookies

Wayfield uses four categories of cookies. The table below summarises each category, its purpose, and whether it can be disabled:

3. Cookie Categories in Detail

Strictly Necessary Cookies

These cookies are essential for the Wayfield platform to function. They cannot be disabled because the service cannot operate without them. They do not store any personally identifiable information beyond what is required for security and session management.

  • Session authentication tokens — Verify your identity and keep you logged in during your session.
  • CSRF tokens — Protect form submissions against cross-site request forgery attacks.
  • Cookie consent preference — Remembers your cookie choices so we don't ask on every page load.
  • Load balancing cookies — Ensure requests are routed to the correct server for reliability.

Legal basis: These cookies are processed on the basis of legitimate interests (platform security) and as strictly necessary to deliver the service you have requested.

Functional Cookies

These cookies allow the platform to remember choices you make and provide enhanced, personalised features. Disabling them may affect your experience but will not prevent you from using core functionality.

  • Language preference — Stores your selected language so you don't need to re-select it.
  • Timezone setting — Ensures session times and dates are displayed in your local timezone.
  • UI preferences — Remembers display settings such as list vs. grid view.
  • Remember me — Keeps you logged in across browser sessions when you opt in.

Analytics Cookies

Analytics cookies help us understand how visitors use Wayfield so we can improve the platform. Data collected is used in aggregate and is not used to identify individual users.

  • Page view tracking — Identifies which pages and features are most and least used.
  • User journey analysis — Helps us understand navigation flows and identify drop-off points.
  • Error and performance monitoring — Detects errors and slow page loads to guide improvements.
  • A/B testing — Measures the effectiveness of interface changes.

You can opt out of analytics cookies at any time through our cookie preferences panel. Legal basis: consent.

Marketing Cookies

Marketing cookies are used to show you relevant advertising on other platforms and websites you visit after leaving Wayfield. These cookies are only placed with your explicit consent and are disabled by default.

  • Retargeting pixels — Enable relevant ads to be shown to you on third-party ad networks.
  • Conversion tracking — Helps us measure the effectiveness of our advertising campaigns.

Legal basis: consent. You may withdraw this consent at any time via the cookie preferences panel.

4. Third-Party Cookies

Some cookies on Wayfield are set by third-party services we use to deliver the platform. These third parties have their own privacy and cookie policies:

  • Stripe — Stripe may set cookies during payment flows to detect fraud, associate your session with a payment, and comply with financial regulations. See Stripe's Privacy Policy.
  • PostHog — PostHog may set analytics cookies (posthog_session, posthog_distinct_id) to track usage patterns and session recordings. All form inputs are masked. PostHog data is processed on EU Cloud infrastructure. See PostHog's Privacy Policy.
  • Content delivery networks (CDNs) — May set performance cookies to route requests efficiently.

We do not control third-party cookies and encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party services you interact with.

5. Managing Your Cookie Preferences

You can control non-essential cookies at any time using the following methods:

Cookie Preferences Panel

You can update your cookie preferences at any time by clicking the "Cookie Settings" link in the footer of any Wayfield page. Changes take effect immediately.

Browser Settings

Most web browsers allow you to control cookies through their settings. You can configure your browser to block all cookies, delete cookies when you close the browser, or alert you when cookies are being set. Note that blocking all cookies may prevent Wayfield from functioning correctly, as strictly necessary cookies will also be blocked.

Instructions for managing cookies in common browsers:

  • Chrome: Settings → Privacy and Security → Cookies and other site data
  • Safari: Settings → Privacy → Manage Website Data
  • Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
  • Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions → Cookies and site data

6. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time as we add new features or in response to changes in law. The effective date at the top of this page will reflect the date of the most recent update. Where changes are material, we will notify you via email or a platform notice.
