Wayfield badges: what they mean
A badge should only say something we can stand behind. So there are very few, none of them can be bought, and this page says plainly how each one is earned and who decides.
A badge is not a guarantee of quality and not an endorsement of any particular workshop. It tells you what was checked, nothing more.
On Wayfield today
Verified Organizer
- What it means
- Wayfield has confirmed this organizer is a real person or business, their email address is verified, and they run real workshops.
- How it is earned
- A member of the Wayfield team reviews the organizer by hand. It is never automatic and cannot be bought.
- Who decides
- A Wayfield administrator. The badge can be removed if the review no longer holds.
Founding Organizer
- What it means
- One of the first thirty organizers invited to use Wayfield and help shape it.
- How it is earned
- By personal invitation to the Founding Organizers program.
- Who decides
- Wayfield’s founder, who confirms each place by hand.
Calculated from a verification
This one is never handed out. It follows from an organizer's verification and disappears if that verification is removed. It is not shown on any public page yet.
Verified LeaderDerived from organizer verification, not shown publicly yet
- What it means
- A leader with a confirmed email who leads workshops for an organizer that Wayfield has verified.
- How it is earned
- It is calculated, never handed out: a leader who leads workshops for a Verified Organizer, with a confirmed email. It is not shown publicly yet.
- Who decides
- It is not awarded separately. If the organizer’s verification is removed, the leader badge goes with it.
Coming, not yet awarded
These are planned. They are not shown on any workshop or organizer page today, and the rules may change before they launch.
Founding BuilderComing
- What it means
- A Founding Organizer who helped build Wayfield by doing the real work with us: connecting payments, publishing a workshop, welcoming a first registration and sharing feedback.
- How it is earned
- Not awarded yet. It would be calculated from those four steps, and only after a seven day wait so refunds can settle.
- Who decides
- Calculated automatically if we launch it. A Wayfield administrator can withhold or remove it.
Introduced a PeerComing
- What it means
- An organizer who introduced a fellow organizer to Wayfield, and that organizer published their first workshop.
- How it is earned
- Not awarded yet. It would be calculated from introductions that led to a published workshop, after a seven day wait.
- Who decides
- Calculated automatically if we launch it. A Wayfield administrator can withhold or remove it.
